Wedding Flowers at Wasing Park

Wasing Park is a gorgeous setting for a wedding, with beautiful grounds, a historic chapel and a collection of spaces that give you plenty of options for your ceremony and celebrations. Originally a restored farming hamlet, the estate combines character and countryside charm with beautiful spaces for modern weddings.

You can get married in the chapel, the Garden Room or outside on the lawn before celebrating in the Castle Barn. And with so many different settings across the estate, there are plenty of opportunities for beautiful photographs throughout the day.

Flowers that suit the setting

The Castle Barn has a sophisticated feel, but it can be styled in lots of different ways. You can embrace the rustic character of the setting or take things in a more refined direction, and both work beautifully with natural, garden-inspired flowers.

The barn isn't particularly bright, so lighter colour palettes and flowers with plenty of colour can work especially well, helping the flowers stand out against the surroundings. Meadow-style arrangements, classic pedestal designs, arches and informal bud vases can all work beautifully here, depending on the atmosphere you want to create.

And don't forget the top table! It's a generous space, so a small floral arrangement can easily get lost. This is somewhere where I like to create something with enough scale and impact to hold its own within the room.

Make your flowers work hard

Wasing gives you plenty of opportunities to move flowers from one part of the day to another. Ceremony flowers can be repurposed for the reception, allowing you to enjoy the same designs in a completely different setting.

This can be particularly effective at Wasing because there are so many spaces to work with. A floral design that frames your ceremony can take on a new role at the wedding breakfast, while smaller arrangements can be moved between the ceremony, drinks reception and tables.

It means your flowers aren't simply beautiful for one moment of the day, they become part of the story as your celebrations move from one space to another.

A few Wasing Park weddings

I've created flowers for a range of weddings at Wasing Park, and one of the things I love about the venue is how differently it can be styled.

A February wedding used a soft, muted palette that complemented the season and created a romantic, understated feel. At the other end of the spectrum, a late-August wedding embraced the height of sunflower season, pairing joyful yellow flowers with deep terracotta for warmth and depth.

I've also created a soft pink and white summer wedding with touches of dried flowers, as well as a vibrant summer celebration filled with colourful bud vases. And for a couple looking for something more sophisticated, classic white flowers created an elegant look that allowed the beauty of the venue to shine.

There really isn't one 'Wasing Park look'. Whether you want relaxed and colourful, soft and romantic, rustic and natural or something more polished and refined, the setting gives you plenty of scope to make the space your own.
